WHAT IS SLEEP HEALTH?
Sleep health is the area of medicine that focuses on getting a good night's rest, which is so much more important than you may think. "We have had a great experience with Dr. Barker! Our newborn had a tongue and lip tie revised, and Dr. Barker worked with her to relieve restrictions. In three sessions, she has gone from a poor sleeper in constant discomfort to a happy, relaxed baby. He helped loosen up her tongue restrictions and she is nursing much better (and my pain is gone)! I highly recommend Dr. Barker."- K.P. / Google / Jun 24, 2020

SIGNS THAT SOMETHING IS WRONG

- Daytime fatigue
- Problems remembering
- Mood swings
- Weakened immunity
- Trouble concentrating
- Weight gain
- Lowered sex drive
HOW IS SLEEP HEALTH TREATED?
At Integrative Pain and Wellness Center, we will begin your treatment by determining the underlying cause of your sleep issue. Whether you have obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, or just feel tired and groggy throughout the day, we will work with you to figure out the source of your problem. In many cases, OSA can be caused by tongue-tie (or ankyloglossia), a condition characterized by the tongue being too closely tethered to the bottom of the mouth by a flap of skin. The most effective treatment for this would be tongue-tie release, a treatment that utilizes laser technology or medical instruments to excise some of this unneeded skin. Some other treatments that can be offered to help individuals sleep better include medication management and oral appliance therapy (OAT).
